After some time, we have noticed that Docking has always been a fragile issue for ship-owners. Mainly for the Procurement Department because it is a part of the company that has a large responsibility for material replacements and during big repairs it´s natural that occurs peaks of purchase demands. As a result, the customer’s staff becomes engaged in purchase for the docked vessel demands, consequently causing delays in the purchase routine for others vessels in operation. Therefore, based on the demands and peculiarities of a docking, we developed a service package of spot purchases specialized in this critical operation. We have joined the best strategies, based on ship maintenance plans studies, mapping of manufacturers and parts to be replaced, standby purchase team ready to attend to any urgency, sending qualified engineer to docking field to follow up and report urgencies.
